• Q:Is the initial assessment really free and what is the purpose of it?

  A:There is absolutely no charge for our assessment session. We see this as a chance to make sure Ashley Tutors is a good fit for your child. During the assessment, we will set goals for the first four sessions and also discuss which one of our team members would make the best connection with your child.

• Q:What kind of education and teaching or tutoring experience do your tutors have?

  A:All of our tutors have at least two years of tutoring experience. While a majority of our tutors are also teachers, many of our tutors work during the day studying the subject they tutor after work.

• Q:What subjects does Ashley Tutors cover?

  A:Ashley Tutors has a specialist available for any subject or course. Our tutors have worked with students on subjects from second-grade English to conversational Czech. With our energetic and engaging tutors, we can take any subject, teach it successfully and make learning fun--all at the same time.

• Q:Do you really come to our house, do 1-1 tutoring, and then provide a written report about the session?

  A:We know it's hard to believe, but with Ashley Tutors, you don't have to fight the traffic to try to get to a center or rearrange your schedule. Ashley Tutors firmly believes a student will thrive if they are in a comfortable setting. We do require that there is someone who is 18 or older is at home when our tutor is working with your student. Parents will receive a detailed report of each and every session via email detailing the subjects and material covered as well as a general progress report of your child.

• Q:How do you screen tutors that come into my home? Do they interview them in person or over the phone?

  A:All tutors are subject to a rigorous five-step interview process that involves a phone interview, an in-person interview, and background checks. We are happy to provide prospective parents with references for the tutor that Ashley Tutors recommends for your child.

• Q:What do I do if nobody who is 18+ can be there?

  A:Don't worry. This happens all the time, and we fully understand people have busy schedules, so it might not be possible to always have an adult present. You can arrange with our tutors to meet your student at a school, in a library or any public place. The safety of your student is a priority.
